Welcome! We are so excited that you have made the decision to become a volunteer with Proverbs 31 Ministries. Our heart and prayer for you is that as a Proverbs 31 Ministries volunteer team member, you will find it a fulfilling way for you to carry out God’s work.

We are real women that offer real-life solutions to women who are striving to maintain life’s balance, in spite of today’s hectic pace and cultural pull away from godly principles. Women by nature are relational, they cross-pollinate and connect. We believe if you can reach a woman with the message of Christ in a strong and powerful way, you not only reach her, but you reach her friends and family as well.

This volunteer blog is set up to be interactive – WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Tell us how your volunteering is going, what you tried, what God helped you to bless forward. So please post your thoughts, ideas, challenges and blessings.

We encourage you to embrace all that Proverbs has to offer, to stay informed, and help us to spread the Word – God’s Word through all the resources we offer. We are so excited that you have decided to join our incredible group of women. You are a treasure for volunteering and we truly appreciate you.

If you are not currently a volunteer and would like to be, you can get more information and fill out an application by going to: http://proverbs31.gospelcom.net/supportp31/volunteer.php

From Our Speakers
Every two months we will feature one of our speakers on our volunteer blog, so that you can get to know them better. This will be a personal bird’s eye view of: who they are, how their speaking is going, what their challenges and blessings are, and what you can pray for. Please post comments to them. They would love to hear from you!

Wendy Pope

Wendy is a native of North Carolina. She currently resides in Charlotte area with her husband and two children. She is the Development Coordinator for Proverbs 31 Ministries. Wendy is the author of Out of the Mouths of Babes and a contributing author to God's Purpose for Every Woman. Wendy writes for Encouragement for Today , daily devotionals for Proverbs 31 Ministries. Her devotions have been featured on Crosswalk.com. The articles she has written for the P31 Woman magazine have encouraged women all across the world.

Wendy has been teaching and encouraging women through in-depth Bible Study for many years. She teaches with passion, candidness, and humor. Her desire to see Christians grow in their relationship with the Lord has led her to be actively involved in Women's Ministry and Discipleship Training at her home church in Matthews, North Carolina.

From Wendy's Heart

My heart's desire is know Christ intimately and to stir the same desire in other women. The calling God has placed on my life is to encourage women to hunger for a close walk with Jesus Christ. I want women to know their needs, their thirsts can only be quenched by a life totally abandoned to self and devoted to Him. My life's verse is Acts 20:24: "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus had given, me, the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."

The Skinny on Wendy:
  • Favorite speaking topic: Living Free in Christ
  • Favorite Book: After the Bible: i am not but i know I AM by: Louie Giglio
  • Best Speaking Experience: Destin Beach, FL with Hillcrest Baptist Church
  • Worst Speaking Experience: I plead the 5th – I love every opportunity to speak on behalf of my Savior
  • When I became a Christian: I was 7. I turned control of my life over to the Lord when I was 31. It has been a great adventure so far.
  • Married: I married the man of my dreams, Scott, November 23, 1991
  • Kids: Our first born, my daughter was born in September 1997 our son came along in April 2000.
  • Favorite thing in the whole world to do: Have the scriptures manifest themselves in my life
  • I feel God has specifically called me to: challenge when to have a morning quiet time with the Lord.
  • Biggest Challenge: Balance between home, work, and ministry
  • What comes easy: talking about the greatness of the Lord
Wendy’s Prayer Request
  • I always stay real in ministry.

Adopt a Speaker
What’s this -- adopt a speaker? That’s right, if you are interested, pick a speaker from the list below and email them and ask them what you can pray for. Getting out there and spreading God’s Word is important and our speakers run into all kinds of obstacles when they get ready to speak. Knowing that you are backing them with prayer will mean a lot. I’m sure they would also enjoy notes of encouragement. What ever you feel God leading you to do to support your adopted speaker will be much appreciated.

Prayer Corner

By Jodie Wolfe
P31 Volunteer

Prayer has always been close to my heart. I have a behind the scene type of personality. One of the things that I love about prayer is that it is something that I can do anywhere and anytime. Often I would like to reach out and physically help someone, but I am not always able to do that. I can always be a prayer warrior. I encourage you to step out in a new way by being a prayer partner with P31.

Prayer is the vital part of any ministry. One of the ways that God can use you daily as a volunteer with P31 is through prayer.

Over 350 verses in the Bible mention the importance of prayer. The majority of us will not be called to be frontrunners in the ministry, but we can have a significant role within the ministry by spending time each day praying for P31; praying for the speaker team, praying for the office staff, praying for hearts to be open to the gospel… the list goes on and on with the needs that are represented within P31.

Are you willing to take a step of faith by covenanting to pray daily for P31? Let’s see what mighty things God does through the humble prayers of His servants.

Volunteer Corner
What does it mean to be a part of the Proverbs 31 Ministries Volunteer Network?

We are friends who want to get the word out about our message and ministry. Our volunteers are those that step forward to spread the word to others about Proverbs 31 Ministries and lift prayers to the Father.

There are many ways to support Proverbs 31 Ministry. Giving of your time and talents is a great way to help. We have a small staff, many of which are unpaid. The position of volunteer is designed for the woman who desires to serve in a Christ-centered, creative, and self-directed role. She seeks opportunities to present, and share Proverbs 31 Ministries to her friends and others in her community, and within her sphere of influence.

We know it can be a little challenging to share your passion with others for the P31 Ministries as a volunteer, so we have brainstormed some ideas to help get you started. If you could do one or two a month that would be great! Then post on this blog what you did. Pray over them before choosing.

Volunteer Ideas…

Testimonials
What Volunteers are Saying…

“I signed up to be a P31 volunteer after attending She Speaks in 2007. I have been familiar with the ministry of P31 for several years, but never realized that I could actually be a volunteer because I live in PA. It has been an honor for me to volunteer with P31. I enjoy contacting various speakers to see what information they would like the volunteers to know. My newest role has been helping Carrie to design this blog.

We live in a society that seems to be getting further and further from God. It is a blessing to be a part of a ministry that encourages women to go against what is culturally acceptable, to live a life for Christ. It is a joy to encourage others along in their Christian walk. My desire is to be more like Him.”
